Abstract: According to the fif th forest invento ry in of Fujian Province, the data collectd from 750 plots were analy zed in this paper. After χ2 examination, the residual analysis and the log-linear simulating, relationships between stand stock and slope position were analyzed. The major results are as follow s:the relation of stand stock and slope position is obvious in χ2 examination;and the stand stock is decreasing with the changes of slope position from slope valley to mountain ridge, which is consistent with the results of the order association determination. But there are some differences between the estimations of major effect and interaction effect, which may result from the inf luence of human factors on the broad-leaved forest.

Key words: broad-leaved forest, slope position, stand stock, two-way contingency table, log-linear model
