To Promote Ecological Civilization for Beijing Social Development by Constructing the Urban Forests

Abstract

Abstract: Urban forest is the main body of urban ecosystem as an effective carrier of ecological civilization. Aimed at putting forward the support of forest on the sustainable development of ecological environment in the city of Beijing, this paper discusses five close-to-natural construction models for the sustainable afforestation and management of the urban forest in Beijing, and discusses also methods of monitoring and evaluating the results and influences of urban forest construction. These models and methods will serves as scientific foundation for urban forest construction and ecological civilization for Beijing social development.
