Abstract: In the world Larus relictus is an endangered species. It’s breeding ground is in the salina wetland in Inner Mongolia. The choice of breeding ground is closely related to the foraging behavior. We have studied Larus relictus in the salina wetland for many years since 2005.Results showed that the Caenagrion imagoes and larvae are the main food of Larus relictus in the breeding season in Inner Mongolia desert salina wetland.Chironomidae larvae is an important food supplement for Larus relictus.Because of the local ecological environment deterioration, the water pH value 9.59 will reach the limit of Caenagrion survival 9.62.If Caenagrion disappears,Larus relictus will lose its main food in breeding ground.
